ITC – GP2 Campaign
The COST Action CA19119, iCOn-MICS: Investigation on comics and graphic novels in the Iberian cultural area offers financial support for eligible applicants for ITC (Inclusiveness Target Countries) Conference Grants.
The aim of ITC Conference Grants is to support Early Career Investigators (that is to say under 40 years old) and PhD students from ITC countries to attend activities, events or conference related to the subject of the action.
Ongoing applications
The applicant must be engaged in an official research program as a PhD Student or postdoctoral fellow.
The following countries are considered as ITC countries:
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, the North Republic of Macedonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
ITC Conference Grants cover meals, accommodation and transportationcoststo and in the country of the academic event (dailyfee). For country-specific rates see: www.cost.eu/daily_allowance.
General rules
Applicants must carefully read the funding rules detailed in Section 9 of the COST Vademecum, including Eligibility Rules, Evaluation and Selection of Applicants, Criteria for ITC and Financial Support. We also encourage applicants to read these other relevant documents: the ITC User Guide, the document about Handling Travel Requests, and the Rule of Travel Reimbursement.
All the participation must be approved in the first place by the Management Committee.
Applications and all documents related to applications must be in English.
Ideally, the request should be submitted at least 45 days prior to the conference start date.
Assessment criteria
Applicants must apply using thee-COST platform by completing, submitting, and downloading their ITC application online at https://e-services.cost.eu/itc. If you do not already have an e-COST account, you first need to “create an account,” which providing the details for the bank account where the grant will be lodged if your ITC application is approved and the ITC completed.
The request can be save only if all fields have been completely on the page, otherwise the information would be lost.
After saving the request, the applicant must upload specific supporting documents in order to be able to submit the application.
As soon as the application is submitted, the Conference Grants Coordinator is notified. The applicant will also receives a copy of the notification.
As soon as the Conference Grants Coordinator approved the CG application, the GH (Grant Holder) is notified to send the Grant Letter notification. The applicant also receives a copy of the approval.
During the day 1 and day 15 after the end of the participation in the conference, the grantee receives a reminder to upload the scientific report. The deadline to submit the last supporting document is 30 days from the end of the participation in the conference.
The submission of the report is mandatory, if not the Grant is cancelled. Late submission, beyond the deadline, can also lead to the cancellation of the Grant.
A scientific report template is available on the Supporting documents page or on-line here: http://www.cost.eu/ITC_conference_grant_report_template. The grantee must complete this template and save it in pdf before uploading it in e-COST.
Additionally, the candidate must submit a completed Online Travel Reimbursement Request (OTRR) within 30 days of the end of the meeting.
If the application is rejected, the Conference Grants Coordinator will provide a justification to guide the grantee in her/his resubmission.
If the Coordinator approves the report, the GH is notified that the grant can be paid.
